We Had the Most Wonderful Time

Rainbow over the Falls
We are almost 2 weeks home from our African adventure. Unfortunately I got home to find my computer was broken so I have only just got up and running again. We had the most wonderful time and the Steam Train excursion lived up to our expectations. The only problem we ran into was at the Zimbabwe border. As I told you we had bought the Kaza visa at Lusaka airport. When we arrived at the border we were told that it should not have been sold to us and was not valid with an Irish visa. We then had to fork out another 70 dollars each to get a return visa as we were not sure which way we would be returning to Zambia (as it happens we crossed straight back to Zambia by ferry). We also feel that our visa card may have been skimmed at the border as after putting the payment through we were told that there had been an error and the transaction was cancelled, which it was, however the following morning I was contacted by my bank in Ireland to say they had blocked the card as they had noticed unusual activity on it. Luckily they did notice it so we were not out of pocket at all. Apart from that little bit of drama everything else went very smoothly. Our 5 nights at the Waterfront were very relaxing and we were delighted with the accommodation. The short walk down to the David Livingstone meant that we had a good variety of food available to us. Apart from the Steam Train we did a game drive, a river cruise, Victoria Falls tour and an African culture morning. We met our friends in Kasane and stayed In Senyati Safari camp, a great place to stay. As they still had their 4x4 we self drove a number of times through Chobe which was a great experience. We finished up in South Luangwa in Croc Valley Safari camp where we had fantastic game drives twice a day. This I would highly recommend. I just want to thank you for all your help and advice prior to the trip and I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone who might be travelling to Livingstone. I have attached a few photos.
