Victoria Falls Hotel a definite thumbs up
by Steve Warren
A relic of our colonial history. It was great to stay in a hotel with many reminders of the past. Overlooking the spray from the falls in the "back garden" was memorable. A short walk to the falls themselves or to the gorge was fantastic. Our visit was in March when the flow was near maximum so we could only see one third of the falls because of the thunderous spray, but it was still awesome and outstanding. So glad we went. We also managed to see elephant early in the morning across the gorge. Our only downside in the hotel was the old plumbing which meant the bath emptied slowly. Watch for the entrance fee to the falls similar to visiting Lands End in the UK. Also it is now US$50 to get into Zimbabwe. The people are lovely, well educated & self assured.
