Although there are separate facilities at either camp, the activities offered are the same for all guests at both camps. Game Drives through the private concession, night drives, safari walks, and game viewing from the hide are all on offer, and should keep you more than occupied throughout the day. However if you choose to relax in camp, you can take advantage of the comfort of the rooms or watch the game wandering through, to and from the waterhole. This slideshow has images of both camps, and you may notice that the rooms at both camps look very similar, certainly with the same type of design. The family units are only at Somalisa Acacia, but all of the tents are on raised decks with luxurious interiors, en-suite facilities, fireplace, etc. All rooms have both indoor and outdoor showers (although these are not shown in the gallery). Each unit has a spacious private deck where you can sit and take in the surrounding environment, including the activity at the nearby waterhole. At the main lodge, there is plenty of space on the viewing deck which also faces the small waterhole. Both camps have communal tents with lounge and dining areas, bars, swimming pools, fireplaces inside and outside the tents. Our OpinionSomalisa Camp and Somalisa Acacia are located in a great game viewing area, especially for elephant, and provides intimate safari in the heart of Hwange. These camps can easily be paired with one of the other 'African Bush Camps' Lodges within Zimbabwe (Mana Pools and Kariba) or Botswana (Linyati and Khwai) rounding off a nice safari getaway in some of the most productive game viewing areas in Southern Africa. Video of Somalisa CampThe video below is an illustration of the beauty that surrounds this amazing camp. From the newly designed interiors of the Somalisa's guest rooms, to the wide and inviting main lodge deck, and the surrounding wildlife of Hwange National Park that come as close as they can get. From the video, you can see why Hwange is called "elephant country" - massive herds can be seen right on the concession.
