About this Ngoma Safari Lodge Slideshow

Ngoma Safari Lodge is a community and privately owned 5 star lodge situated on a private concession in the Chobe Forest Reserve. There are eight luxurious suites, each one positioned to give enough privacy, with fabulous views of the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains in the distance. Guests can relax in the shaded sun beds on the deck outside the suite, or cool off in the private plunge pool while enjoying the open wilderness and watch the animals that pass through. Alternatively, drinks and meals can be enjoyed on the larger main deck where a swimming pool, dining area and bar.

Prices at Ngoma Safari Lodge are typical of luxury safari lodges in the region, with the 5-star experience and comforts to match. Costs include luxury accommodation with luxury room facilities, all meals and local drinks during your stay, game activities both on the private concession and within the park (including game drives, river cruises, walking safaris and birding).

The location of Ngoma Safari Lodge makes it a unique Chobe riverfront property. This section of Chobe is not as busy as the downstream area. That and it's location on a private concession makes it a much more intimate lodge, with more private game activities. This is most advantageous during the peak season when Chobe National Park gets very busy, while this section of Chobe sees minimal change in traffic.

From this slideshow, you get an idea of the luxurious rooms at Ngoma Safari Lodge - both interior and exterior room facilities. You also see the main lodge area with beautiful elevated views of the Chobe River and the flood plains. The game activities at Ngoma that you see in the gallery, are inclusive of the rate, along with many other services.

Our Opinion

This is a truly 5 star luxury lodge which has been well designed and built with all the latest modern comforts and features. Its elevated position on a ridge offers breath-taking views across the Chobe floodplains. Being located close to the Ngoma gate on the western side of the Chobe National park is, in our opinion, a massive advantage as this end of the park has far less tourists than the very busy area around Kasane where most of the hotels and lodges are situated. For clarity, Chobe in the peak season is a popular and busy park, but this side of the park has less tourists so here you will be able to enjoy a game viewing experience without the barrage of other game viewing vehicles on day trips. Being a small intimate lodge means that at Ngoma Safari Lodge, you will get a more personalised safari experience unlike Chobe Game Lodge for instance which is essentially a big hotel.

The outstanding elevated views across the flood plains allow for game viewing right from your comfy bed or your own private patio. On the plains there is resident game all year round, but in the peak game viewing season from July to October, as the water recedes from the floodplains, literally thousands of animals can be seen on the plains below you - a truly remarkable privilege and spectacle.

Despite the fact that this lodge is situated far from the maddening crowd, Ngoma Safari Lodge still has easy access via a good tar road from Kasane. This transfer takes about an hour which in itself is a game drive where I would be highly surprised if you did not see elephant and other species.

We would highly recommend staying at this lodge for the reasons we have given above.

Customer Feedback

Brilliant service and so helpful
by Sally (Blisworth, U.K.)
I stumbled across Victoria Fall Guide by accident, but I am so glad I did. Tony and Boo were so helpful, advising us on the best activities for us as I have mobility issues, and arranging our itinerary and booking everything. I had no worries about using them, or sending a very large payment to someone I didn’t know. Everything they booked for us was so well organised, pick ups on time, knowledgeable and friendly guides, clean transport. We did the walking tour of the falls, the sunset dinner cruise, full day at Chobe, the team, lion encounter and the helicopter and every single one was faultless. We were also due to do the lunar rainbow but unfortunately it was cancelled, however boo arranged the refund immediately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful to them for making our special holiday even more so.
