New Places to Stay in Victoria Falls

Zimbabwe has been open for a while now, and slowly but surely, things are starting to "normalise", as two of the land borders Kazungula and Victoria Falls Bridge have been opened, and hotels and lodges are seeing a few more guests. While things were quiet, a few operators have been busy building brand new properties, some of which are ready, and others will be by the end of the year.

Within The City

Pioneers Lodge, sister lodge to Batonka Guest Lodge, is a new boutique lodge located in the quiet low density area of Victoria Falls. Pioneers, which opened earlier this year, offers guests different options from bed and breakfast to full board rates. It is much larger than Batonka lodge although there is plenty of space for guests to not feel crowded, plus TWO swimming pools. Pioneers Lodge is a family friendly lodge with rooms that allow families to stay together.

Not far from Pioneers, Nkosi Guest Lodge is the newest addition to the Bayete Collection, which includes Bayete Guest Lodge and Phezulu Lodge, located in the same area. Nkosi offers more of an executive experience unlike the sister lodges, but also caters for families. The 24 rooms are elegant, spacious and luxurious, all en-suite with shower and bath tub, plus other facilities to make your stay comfortable. Nkosi Lodge has already been featured in Homes & Styles Magazine. Nkosi Lodge was officially open on 4th January 2022.

Another new lodge that has just opened, also in the residential area, not far from Bayete and Pioneers is Pamarah Lodge. The owners have taken their time with this one, and the wait was well worth it. Pamarah's design is unique in comparison with the surrounding lodges and even the ones outside of town. The luxurious rooms are in freestanding buildings nestled under a canopy of teak trees. The 14 rooms under thatch come in twin, double, king, honeymoon and family rooms.

Out In The Wilderness

Well, not too far out...A new property which will be opening on the 1st of December is the Palm River Hotel, ideally located by the Zambezi River. This new kid just outside the block is an upmarket luxury hotel and sister to Ilala Lodge in the city centre. The Palm River Hotel offers a variety of rooms from comfortable deluxe rooms to treetop suites and an exclusive villa. The villa is perfect for those who want a private hotel experience, complete with kitchen, dining room, lounge, private patio and garden, private car park and its own swimming pool! One new lodge that is very much out in the wilderness and on a private concession is the newly opened Wallow Lodge. The Wallow Lodge is situated right along the Masuwe River, a tributary of the lower Zambezi River. This wilderness tented lodge joins Wild Horizon's luxury camps Old Drift Lodge and the Elephant Camp, which is not far from the Wallow Lodge.
