Access is difficult and therefore restricted to long drives or charter
flights, because of this there is not a great deal of choice when it comes to
finding a place to stay
Mana Pools National Park is situated in the
middle Zambezi Valley on the northern most border of
Zimbabwe. This iconic national park is well
known for its large concentrations of wildlife, especially in the dry season,
and its outstanding scenery.
Accommodation is limited to a few luxury safari camps, a couple of mobile
safaris camps or the National Parks facilities.
The National Parks have several campsites available for the self drive
tourist and two lodges which are in dire need of repair.
Luxury safari camps include, Ruckomechi,
Vundu, Goliath Safaris, Nyamatusi and
Chikwenya, all situated along the river.
Kanga Camp and
Kavinga Camp are situated deep inland,
and so offer quite a different experience.
A couple of safari operators have access to sites designated for mobile
tented camps. These camps are not permanent and are taken down and re-erected
every couple of weeks. More glamping than camping though, with en-suite
bathrooms, beds etc. very comfortable.
Canoeing safaris are a very popular activity in Mana Pools, as this is an
extremely beautiful stretch of river, rich in wildlife. Canoeing is an idyllic
way to really experience this park but suited to the more adventurous, as
dodging hippos and
crocodiles is a daily pastime. There are few
different options available which include luxury and not so luxurious canoe
trips.

Brilliant service and so helpful by Sally (Blisworth, U.K.)
I stumbled across Victoria Fall Guide by accident, but I am so glad I did. Tony and Boo were so helpful, advising us on the best activities for us as I have mobility issues, and arranging our itinerary and booking everything.
I had no worries about using them, or sending a very large payment to someone I didn’t know. Everything they booked for us was so well organised, pick ups on time, knowledgeable and friendly guides, clean transport. We did the walking tour of the falls, the sunset dinner cruise, full day at Chobe, the team, lion encounter and the helicopter and every single one was faultless.
We were also due to do the lunar rainbow but unfortunately it was cancelled, however boo arranged the refund immediately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful to them for making our special holiday even more so.
