Little Makalolo Camp

Some Information About Little Makalolo Slideshow

At this classic camp in Hwange National Park, one can enjoy African safari comfort and great service on a premier wildlife concession. In the slideshow, you see the main lodge with the dining area boasting beautiful leather seats, the lounge with cosy couches great for an afternoon read or evening drinks. Out on the deck are more seats with views of the waterhole, and a firepit to keep you warm if your visit is during the winter months. Dining can also be al fresco next to the swimming pool.

The tented rooms at Little Makalolo are simple and rustic. In the images, you see both the standard rooms and the family unit which has two bedrooms and communal bathroom. The tents have spacious en-suite bathrooms, including showers and his and her basins. Also in the slideshow is the star bed - for an intimate night out under the stars.

The nearby waterhole does get different kinds of visitors, and the log hide is a great place to view them while you are in camp or simply do not feel like heading out for a game drive. Other activities provided by licensed and well qualified guides include game drives on and around the concession, walking and birding safaris, and cultural tours.

Our Opinion

Little Makalolo is the ultimate Safari experience. Being a “Classic” Wilderness Safaris camp and situated on a premiere wildlife concession means nightly rates are not cheap, but then no decent safari is and comparatively speaking Little Makalolo represents good value for money. Wilderness guides are also always of a high standard. We rate this camp very highly and know for certain from the numerous clients who have stayed there that you won’t be disappointed.

Combining Little Makalolo with one of the other Wilderness camps either in Zimbabwe or elsewhere in Southern Africa, will round off a great safari experience with this professional and well organised company.
