KLM strengthens Africa network with Harare flights Effective October 29, KLM will commence services to Harare, Zimbabwe. “KLM sees great growth opportunities in Africa. This year we launched services to Luanda in Angola and Lusaka in Zambia, and in 2011 we began serving Kigali in Rwanda. This new addition to our network strengthens our position in Africa,” said Erik Varwijk, KLM managing director and executive vice president of Air France KLM International and The Netherlands. The service from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport to Harare International Airport will operate three times a week in combination with Lusaka, Zambia. Flights will be operated with an A330-200 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, departing Schiphol at 10h20, arriving in Harare on the same day at 21h25. The return leg departs Harare at 22h30 the same day, with an intermediate landing in Lusaka. The flight arrives in Amsterdam the following morning at 10h20. KLM will also offer 11 weekly services to Harare via Nairobi in co-operation with Kenya Airways.
