Some Information About Camp Hwange Slideshow

Although it is one of the most easily accessible places to stay in the Hwange area, Camp Hwange's location is in a remote section, so privacy and intimate safari experiences are the norm on the lodge's private concession. In the image gallery, you can catch the atmosphere of intimacy that surrounds the lodge - on only visitors being the animals that come to camp and quench their thirst at the waterhole in from of camp.

Beautiful African sunsets together with comfortable lodge facilities will make your stay at Camp Hwange a satisfying one. In the gallery, the main lodge with the large dining area and cosy lounge are great for downtime and a break from the safari activities, although you may not be able to completely get away from the animals as they tend to visit the nearby waterhole anyway.

Our Opinion

Camp Hwange ranks amongst the top camps in Hwange National Park but what sets this camp apart from others is firstly its locality to Victoria Falls, making it easily accessible by road transfer (3hrs) reducing hefty air charter costs. Secondly the camp's focus is on guiding and maximising the safari experience rather than the luxury trimmings and thirdly, the owners and directors are actively involved in guiding and managing the camp. It is a great safari camp in a great area and an awesome safari is almost guaranteed – ideal for experienced safari goers and first timers alike. For international guests the prices are on par with any of the best camps and in line with what a top of the range safari costs. They also offer pretty decent SADC rates.
