An Update on Fuel Supply
28 September 2018 As of September, Victoria Falls is experiencing a shortage in fuel supply. It is important that our self-driver be aware of the situation and make necessary provisions to avoid being stuck in fuel queues, or worse. At the moment, other areas of the country have erratic supplies, and in the cities, there are certain suppliers that do not have fuel at all. If you are driving through Botswana, you may want to fill up in Kasane before crossing the Kazungula Border, and fill your extra cans as well. Drivers through Zambia can get fuel in Livingstone before crossing the Victoria Falls Bridge Border. Do not use large drums for your extra supply - just a reasonable amount of fuel in jerrycans. Those making use of airport transfers and booked activities need not worry about being picked up or dropped off for activities, or their airport transfers. Local tour operators are not affected by the fuel shortage.
