All the inside info you provided ahead of time was spot on.by Mark
Hi Boo, Thanks for all your help and advice. We had a truly amazing holiday, and all the inside info you provided ahead of time was spot on. The sunset boat cruise was brilliant, the kids enjoyed seeing some elephant/hippo/giraffe and we all enjoyed the sunset. The vulture feeding at the Safari Lodge was also something that the kids loved and is worth recommending to other travellers, the kids even asked to go back a second time which we did with great pleasure. The Falls were amazing, even if not at full flow on the Zambian side, we still got seriously "rained" on while walking the falls. The helicopter flight was inspiring, I hadn't realised it , but it was something that should be on everyone's bucket list even if it is quite expensive. We had an awesome time on the night drive to the Stanley and Livingstone Reserve, with a very passionate guide. We had some awesome up close experiences with a mother black rhino and her calf chomping away quite happily with us less than a few metres away. Negotiating the various street sellers was quite taxing, as everyone wanted to sell you something whenever you were near the tourist areas in town. We did negotiate and purchase some items in the open curio market, and your negotiating advice was again quite correct although I was quite amazed at how direct/persistent the various vendors could be in an attempt to get a sale. The kids enjoyed the Boma experience, not so much the food, but more the cultural side with my 6 yr old even trying a Mopane Worm and loving the drumming and dancing. All of the people we met whether we were wandering around town or in the hotels/restaurants/shops were really amazing and helpful. Vic Falls definitely put her best foot forward for the duration of our stay. Cheers Mark
